Itinerary : Essaouira day trip from Marrakech

Your Essaouira day trip begins at 08:30 am with a pick-up from your hotel in Marrakech. Drive across the Haouz plains to Chichaoua village, where you can enjoy a short coffee break before continuing to Sidi Mokhtar. Along the way, you will pass through an Argan forest, where you might spot goats climbing the trees—stop for photos before heading to Essaouira.

Upon arrival, explore the harbor with its lively fishing port and old Portuguese fortifications. Medieval cannons line the ramparts, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Next, enter the Medina, the well-preserved old city dating back to the 18th century. Visit La Scala, built as a defense against sea invasions, and continue to Bab Laalouj, one of the main city gates, and the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter.

Stroll through streets lined with art galleries, souvenir shops, and Thuya wood craft stores. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at a local café.
